Halfway Around the Globe

If you are following our adoption journey, you might wonder where are we in the process?

We are still in the home study phase which began around the start of September. This involves interviews, the home visit, educational requirements, but also includes a lot of intense scrutiny, medical exams, etc. As a result, even though most things have been turned in, the home study is still not officially ready and done.

In particular, we have been working to gather a few additional items that were deemed necessary upon further review. We are still waiting to get a police clearance report from Germany which should hopefully arrive within the next week. We are also working to accomplish one more educational requirement for those who are adopting multiple children. We have submitted the first step and as a second step we need to contact and talk with several families who have done this recently to hear from their experience.

We appreciate your prayers as we continue to move through the process!

Our minimal goal needed for our adoption is $51,000.

Currently we have raised: $22,050 through donations and matching funds.

We are able to cover $15,000 through our savings.

The remaining minimal goal is: $13,930

We know so many of you are eagerly following our adoption journey. We are so blessed to have people on multiple continents and in many different countries praying for us and supporting us. In order to try to effectively communicate, keep everyone up to date, and invite you along our journey as best as possible, we hope to use this blogsite to post updates, prayer requests related to the adoption journey, and other adoption related information.

Don’t worry, we will also post our Stannard Snapshots here (as soon as we actually do them…) and all the normal things will remain. However, we hope that this addition will allow everyone following us to stay as up to date as possible!

After a very eventful summer, we finally managed to get another video recorded! So sit down and take a 17 minute break to hear about everything from adoption to surgery and the Lord’s provision throughout it all!

Sadly this video hasn’t arrived to you in April, but it was shot in April, which hopefully counts for something 🙂 We hate to be late with this, but we are excited to share some of the latest adventures and travels! So take a few minutes to join us and see what God is doing around the globe!

We pray you are enjoying a very blessed Easter! For this month we wanted to share with you something a bit longer than our typical snapshots, but what we hope will be a great encouragement! Recently we gave a fuller report on the trip to India at the adult Sunday school hour at MICC. You can see the full report at the following link! Watch it in pieces or carve out the time for the whole thing in one sitting, but we pray this will be a great encouragement to see the work of God around the globe!

We are so thankful to pass along a super special Stannard Snapshot – one that we actually didn’t put together. Christ Project India, the group that Luke worked with during his time in India, graciously put together a feedback video together with all the pastors sharing several of the things they learned during the weeklong training. We pray that you will be as greatly encouraged by this as we were and we are so excited to be able to pass this along to you. Please join us in continuing to pray for these pastors, their churches, and their continued growth. They have incredible hearts for ministry and are operating under extremely meager conditions. But God is doing wonderful things through them and in them!
