Ministry Activities

What are some daily, weekly, annual, and other ministry activities that we are involved in?  Ministry is an ever changing description for a drive to advance the kingdom of God and to proclaim His name through His Word.  However, here are a few of the bigger components of what we are doing:

  • Teaching – Through a partnership with the Martin Bucer Seminary (MBS), we have an opportunity to impact the next generation of church leaders.  MBS is a reformed theological seminary that is committed to the values of Scripture and to grounding students in the Word of God.  It was formed in reaction to the increasingly theologically liberal movement of the theological schools in Europe and especially seeks to return to the values of the Reformation.  Unlike traditional schools, MBS does not have a main campus, but operates on a study center model.  This means that students can remain local while getting high quality, God honoring education designed to equip them to lead and minister well.  Curious to know more?  Check out MBS’s website here!
  • Travel – Since MBS operates on a study center model, that means there is a need for the teachers to travel between the centers to teach their various disciplines.  Currently there are 7 study centers in Germany, 1 in Albania, 1 in Brazil, 1 in Finland, 1 in India, 1 in Switzerland, 2 in the Cech Republic, and 1 in Turkey.  This means that on occasion, there is a need to travel and teach both in Germany and beyond.  One of the things we love about the study center model is the tremendous opportunity to have an impact beyond Munich!

  • Discipleship –  Beyond partnering with MBS, we also have the opportunity to help develop a pastoral internship program that the Free Evangelical Church of Germany in central Munich has established.  The internship provides a salaried opportunity for theological students to get practical ministry experience while developing in their leadership skills.  The heart of the program is to see pastors who are as equipped as possible to step into their first pastorate.  Beyond the 3 year internship, there is an opportunity to follow up and continue investing in the interns to encourage them in their first year of full time ministry.
  • Church Revitalization and Church Planting – Both the ministry with MBS and the pastoral internship program are specifically designed to equip those who will be used by God to revitalize existing churches and to help plant new churches.  By God’s grace, we are seeking to see the European church scene return to Scripture.  We believe that revival and reformation are needed and must begin with the church.
